ILLUMINATE Film Festival in partnership with Favorite Clothing and Avano Bistro presents SCREEN ‘N CUISINE Encore Film Screening of Bringing It Home & Three-Course Hemp-Infused Dinner with Filmmaker Linda Booker

5:00pm Film - Mary D. Fisher Theater
6:30pm Dinner - Avano Bistro, 2675 Arizona 89A

Hemp - it's not just for hippies anymore. Today they're making everything from salad dressings to buildings with it. Despite the inevitable giggles and jokes, industrial hemp is actually a non-psychoactive plant, grown in 31 other countries, but prohibited in the U.S. Legalization advocates say it could help American farmers, create jobs and replace thousands of harmful petro-chemical and synthetic products. So why can’t U.S. farmers grow it? Featuring answers from business owners using hemp for construction, textiles, nutrition, soaps and bio-plastics, BRINGING IT HOME tells the story of hemp’s past, present and future, one that very well may get your knickers in a twist.

After the screening, enjoy an incredible hemp-infused three-course dinner, whipped up by the esteemed Chef Joseph Wickham from Avano Bistro that will woo your taste buds. Share enlightened conversation as Bringing It Home filmmaker Linda Booker recounts the film’s feverish trek across America. Plus, take hemp home with you in a goodie-bag!
